Applications and Uses for HyloCool

Welding aluminum body panels

Thin-walled panels often warp when subjected to the stress of welding. Apply a bead of HyloCool along the weld line and prevent heat from distorting the aluminum body panels. It will protect the paint coatings, too.

Preventing damage to oxygen sensors

Oxygen sensors and catalytic converters are often subject to damage through a heat spike while welding. Prevent this damage by using HyloCool gel.

Removing head bolts without damaging the block

By putting a bead around a head bolt, you can heat the bolt to release threadlockers without warping the engine block.

Preventing damage during autobody work

Prevent damage to plastic light covers, rubber grommets, weatherstripping, and paint finishes with judicious use of HyloCool. If it can protect a balloon, it can protect these parts. Using HyloCool can also mean saving time, if you don't have to disassemble complex parts prior to welding.

Install headers without damaging chrome finishes

HyloCool can prevent discoloration of the chrome finish while welding on headers. Similar applications include preventing damage to powder coatings from welding.
